Summer Water Safety Tips
Most drownings happen in the warm months. A few habits can keep your family safe all season.
At the pool
- Assign a sober water watcher at all times
- Keep gates closed and latched
- Learn CPR before the season starts
- Never rely on floaties as life-saving devices
At lakes and the beach

- Swim near lifeguards and know the flags
- Beware currents, drop-offs, and cold water
- Never swim alone
